The metro stations reconstruction project was launched in February 2006. So far, Tbilisi Metro has got 4 reconstructed stations under the project – Isani, Avlabari, Tsereteli Avenue and Freedom Square. Last year, Tbilisi Mayor's Office allocated 2,4 mln Lari to finance the reconstruction works.                                                        

2007 will be the year, in which Akhmeteli Theatre, Varjketili and Nadzaladevi will be added to the number of reconstructed stations. The reconstruction works kicked off on June 8 and will be completed on November 15. 1,9 mln Lari, the money needed to finance the reconstruction works, has been allocated from Tbilisi local budget.
