Bank of Georgia

As a result of the tender that was conducted in 2006 for bank services and leasing out space in Tbilisi Metro stations, Tbilisi Metro received a very interesting alternative proposal from Bank of Georgia and later on from Bank of Georgia's affiliate Metroservice+ concerning organizing coil sale, collection of proceeds, equipping slot machines with modern processors, creating a uniform optic network and introducing in Metro modern means of payment – a contactless plastic cards.

As a result of the bank service purchase agreement and the lease agreements made with Bank of Georgia, the latter undertook to carry out 1,1 mln Lari investment by means of MS+ in one year in creating the uniform optic network, the modern passenger filing system, developing the relevant software and introducing a contactless plastic card as a means of fare payment. Besides, Tbilisi Metro received 500 000 additional annual revenues from leasing out the space in Metro stations needed for the project implementation.

As a result of the project implementation, Bank of Georgia and MS+ (that has been organizing the sale of coins in the entire Metro since September 1, 2006) are the main strategic partners of Tbilisi Metro.
